It is hard to imagine our lives now without computers. Most of us use a computer for an average of 7 hours a day. We use our computers at work. We use them at home. And we even take our computers with us on holiday.
It is hard to imagine that computers were not common in the household only 30 years ago. Let alone cell phone, but that is a story for another day.

1937. The Model K was first built. Not highly advanced (obviously by today’s standards) but certainly was for the day. The K stands for Kitchen as this computer was built on a kitchen table. The Model K proved the concept for applying Boolean logic to the design of computers. The Model K opened the doors to a floodgate or other designs which included the formation of HP computers two years later with their computer called the 200B. From this point there were many computers designed, each of them trumped the previous. First Computer Program
1948 was the year where the first program to run on a computer was designed and completed. It was called Williams Tube. So what did it do you ask? Well it was the first electronic random access memory for computers. Williams Tube consisting of seventeen instructions and first ran on June 21st, 1948. This was the first program to ever run on a computer.
First Personal Computer
Coming in at only $50,000 the Librascope LGP-30 was the first personal computer. It was used for simple data processing and for science. Sorry, no games or web browsing yet…
First Apple Computer
Ever wonder what the heritage of your Mac is? Well it all started back in 1976 when Apple released their first computer named Apple-1. The next year came the vast improvement of the Apple II.
First IBM Computer
1982 was when IBM released their first personal computer. And boy did it look hot back in the day! This IBM was cloned by many other manufactures which gave them a lot of competition.
The year was 1989, the year of the first laptop released. And it was an Apple Macintosh. When you think of laptops these days, you think small, light, and convenient. This thing weighed 16 pounds and costed $6,500.
iPad Was Released
It was only a few years ago when the first iPad was released. 2008 to be exact. Seems like they have been around forever.
