Tips For Mothers Who Work From Home

Do you have your own business or work from home for a company? Things may be going great until you have a child. Having a child disrupts your work to say the least. No more starting at 8am and finishing at 4:30pm. With constant interruptions and your baby wanting lots of attention, how on earth are you still going to get any work done? We have here a few tips to help you get the most out of your day while still being able to give your baby the attention they need. So here we go.

Have Help

Having a support group of family and friends in invaluable. Both family and friends can help look after your child when you need to work. Ideally you could have someone to call on (or people) to take care of your baby around 4 hours a day, 5 days a week. This way you can get lots of work done and your child is still being looked after well. Don’t have any family or friends nearby? Consider using a baby sitter or daycare. Just be sure to do your research before you try any of these.

Make The Most Of Baby Downtime

Between feeding, many babies sleep a lot. In many cases all they do is feed and sleep. Well that and diaper changes. There are of course babies which are at the other end of the spectrum. The ones that cry when they are not feeding. These are a little harder to deal with. In any case, make sure you take full advantage of your baby’s downtime. Make sure to do as much work as you can in this time.

Sleep

Having a baby is tiring. We all know it. They wake up every 2 hours or so at night and need to feed all day too. And your body is spending a lot of energy each day producing more milk for your child. This all being said, try and take many opportunities to sleep. Make sure you have enough sleep so you can actually function properly and be productive when you are working. Take your opportunities to sleep.
